A Streetcar Named Desire at the Young Vic

A few weeks ago, I went to see ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’ directed by Benedict Andrews at the Young Vic. This play is running until the 19th of September and will be broadcasted by National Theatre Live on Tuesday the 16th of September (more information here). The direction of this show is amazing and the performance of the actors is outstanding! I was left wondering how they can find the energy to translate all these emotions every day with the same intensity. The staging is really clever as the central revolving scene allows every spectator to enjoy the play from different perspectives all along the duration of the play. Besides, you will get the chance to see Gillian Anderson, staring as Blanche DuBois, in a very different character than the one we know her for (agent Scully in the TV show The X-Files) 🙂 This play is already sold out but The Young Vic is organising a daily lottery between 5 and 5.30pm where you can win the opportunity to buy some of the daily seats.
