Weekend in Yorkshire – Part 1

york minster

Back in July, I went for a weekend break in Yorkshire. We were lucky as the weather was really lovely and it was perfect for sightseeing 🙂 (We had such a nice summer this year!).

We started with York which has quite a few interesting landmarks to see: the gothic cathedral York Minster, Clifford’s Tower which is part of York Castle, the medieval streets and city walls. It is as well really nice to have a stroll along the river Ouse when the weather allows it 🙂
Tip for the shopaholics: there is a designer outlet in York suburb with among other brands The Kooples, Vans, Paul Smith, Swarovski, Ted Baker etc., more info here!

We then headed off to Scarborough for a bit of fresh air! Scarborough seafront is split in two bays by a promontory on which can be found the ruins of Scarborough Castle. I really enjoyed the walk from the promontory down to the North bay and especially the beautiful view from the top, overlooking the bay. Even though the sun was up, the sea was still pretty cold… so no bath for me 😉
