After a first day exploring York and Scarborough (see previous post here), we spent the second day in Leeds. As all the main landmarks of the city are gathered in the town centre, it is quite convenient to visit. We first passed by Leeds Civic Hall and Town Hall and then headed to Leeds Corn Exchange, a Victorian building that was originally a trading facility, which has since been converted into a shopping centre with nice little boutiques. By the way, Kirkgate Market, which is considered the largest covered market in Europe, was the founding location of Marks & Spencer 🙂
After walking around we stopped for a brunch at Moments Café. The brunch was really tasty with simple and fresh ingredients 🙂 I had smoked salmon with poached eggs and lightly stir fried asparagus and a pineapple, banana and mint juice. Yummmm… If you are around in Leeds, I really recommend you this little address for a brunch or just a coffee break!
