Meeting Blondifox

blondifox

I am just back from an awesome trip in Canada! I can’t wait to tell you more about it in the upcoming weeks 🙂 But for today, I have a special guest on the blog whose brand is one of my latest discoveries! Last month, I had the pleasure to meet the lovely Charlotte, founder of the young fashion brand Blondifox, over a drink in London where she is currently living and has set up her brand last year. We got to talk over a drink and I took this opportunity to take a couple of pictures of her wearing one of her creations, the Manon dress (available in grey here). Check out her website to see more of her creations. Personally, I am a big fan of the Ana top, the Hugo overalls and the Tom kimono.

How did you come up with the name Blondifox?
It wasn’t easy… After a couple of fruitless trials, I was reading the French novel “Dans les rapides” when I clicked. In the book, the girls are listening to the rock band Blondie, and it’s the innocence of this band name contrasting with their music style which inspired me. Fox came just after, as a reference to nature, freedom, as well as England. I finally ended up with Blondifox for the contrast between an ingenuous appearance and a rebel and cheeky side. It works so well that my friends are now calling me Blondifox 🙂

What is your story? How did you end up in London?
Coming from Biarritz in France, I worked for the Parisian brand Gat Rimon after my business school studies. Fashion is an area which I have always been passionate about and, after following my boyfriend (now husband :)) to London a bit more than a year ago, I decided to start my own project.

How did you start the Blondifox adventure?
I worked for a year on the prototypes, the lookbook and the launch of the Spring/Summer 2015 collection before everything finally came to life!

Where does your inspiration come from?
I have various sources of inspiration, it can be my friends, what I can see people wearing on the street or lines and details which I like.

How would you describe Blondifox identity in three words?
Chic, playful, conscious

What is Blondifox philosophy?
Blondifox style is simple but elegant, with nice cuts slightly oversize, beautiful natural fabrics such as linen from Italy, English wool etc., while staying affordable.

Where are your creations made? Where do the materials you are using come from?
The 2015 Spring/Summer collection has mostly been made in Tunisia and a bit in England. I am currently working with a Bulgarian workshop for the production of the next collection. At Blondifox, we take seriously into account the conditions in which our clothes are made and I only work with partners which has a work ethic that is in line with mine.

What are your upcoming plans?
I would love to build a real Blondifox world from clothes to stationery etc. For the moment, I am staying focused on the upcoming 2015/2016 Autumn/Winter collection, which is being produced at the moment thanks to the financial support gathered via the crowdfunding platform Kiss Kiss Bank Bank, and the shooting of the 2016 Spring/Summer collection!

Follow me on Facebook and Instagram to discover more about my little world.
