As you have probably seen, if you are following me on Instagram, I was in Canada a couple of weeks ago. It was a great trip and I have prepared several posts to share with you the places I have explored, my travel tips, yummy adresses and other discoveries.
To start with, I have enclosed our road trip map below 🙂
After a delayed flight, because of which we missed our connection :(, we finally landed in Montréal and headed off straight to the chalet we had rented for the weekend in Les Laurentides. A lot of people living in Montréal go in this area during the weekends to enjoy hiking or winter sports (depending on the season), as it is only two hours drive from the city. On the way, we stopped by a St-Hubert for cheap traditional ribs. (If you are on the road in Canada, there are two places you are bound to stop by at some stage: St-Hubert for a quick meal and Tim Hortons for a coffee :)).
We stayed in a really cute chalet close to a stream where we really made good use of the barbecue 🙂 On the first day, after hiking in the lake Monroe area, where we ended up in a beautiful viewpoint overlooking the lake after a bit less than an hour walk, we then had a lovely dinner at Antipasto in St Jovite. This yummy Italian restaurant has a really fun setting as it is located in an old train station 🙂 The following day, we went to the Scandinave Spa Mont-Tremblant before leaving for Montréal. I would really recommend you to go there if you have the opportunity as this open air spa was such a relaxing experience! There are a lot of different baths as resting areas that can fit everyone’s taste: a steam bath, a Finnish sauna, hot and cold baths, hammocks, deckchairs with an outdoor fireplace etc. You can even go in the Diable river to cool you down!! Personally, I could only get my feet in there… It was freezing 🙂 I reckon it must be an incredible experience in winter with the snow surrounding you! This was just a perfect way to start the holiday even though we finished the day under pouring rain 🙂
That’s where I leave you for today 🙂 I hope you enjoyed it! More to come on the next post where I will be telling you about the fjord of the Saguenay and Tadousac area! If you want to read all the posts about our trip, you will find the links below!
