Jean Hwang Carrant cookies in Paris

Jean Hwang Carrant cookies

Today, I have a new yummy Parisian address to share with you! Jean is an American with Taiwanese origins that has been living in Paris for a few years and started making cookies in her kitchen for the restaurants in her area. Her cookies were so good that word of mouth spread and she even got to cater for events etc. So, when I read about Jean’s cookies on Mai’s blog and heard she was opening her store earlier this year, I was really excited to try them! This summer, I contacted her to order some cookies as I had a weekend in Paris planned and I wanted to make sure I would be able to try all the flavours that I had been longing to try for weeks 🙂

When you enter her little store in the charming Montorgueil area, the atmosphere is really warm and relaxed with residents and friends sitting down for a cookie and a chat with Jean. All the cookies are handmade daily and what I like is that Jean is experimenting with unusual flavours such as Black Sesame, Mojito, White Matcha or sharing with us more traditional American recipes like Snickerdoodles and Arthur (chocolate chips cookie). As it was not too busy when I got there, I had the chance to have a nice chat with Jean. She showed me her kitchen and made me try her latest culinary creations: the ice cream cookie sandwiches, that she had made two flavours for the summer, mojito and beer 🙂 I loved the mojito ice cream and found the beer one surprisingly tasty! When back home, I finally got to try her cookies and felt in love with Mojito (with its refreshing flavour and crunchy texture), Carambar (with its sticky Carambar centre, yum…), Snickerdoodles (perfect for cinnamon lovers) and Sseb (with a little touch of spiciness that tingles on your tongue). There are a couple I didn’t taste but I would give Nutella and Black Sesame a try if I were you as I heard good things about them too. When in Paris, I can only recommend you to pop by her store where her smile and delicious cookies will for sure brighten your day 🙂

Hope you enjoyed this review 🙂 Follow me on Facebook and Instagram to discover more about my little world!
