Since the 27th of September, Sofitel Saint James in London is hosting a photo exhibition, La Parisienne by Sofitel, along with different experiences for their guests such as personal styling sessions, exclusive cocktails and menus etc. I had already mentioned this to you in my post about Willa Gebbie who was commissioned to create some illustrations for a style guide written by the British blogger Ella Catliff especially for this event.
I was lucky to be invited to the opening night to discover the photos curated by Paris Match (a famous french magazine). The idea behind this exhibition is to explore the style of “La Parisienne” since the 1950s through a selection of 22 photographs taken from Paris Match archives showing iconic Parisian figures such as Inès de la Fressange, Lou Douillon, Catherine Deneuve etc. To complement these, 10 pictures from amateurs photographers have been selected following a photo contest that was asking participants to capture what “La Parisienne” embodies today.
This free exhibition runs until the 17th of November in the Rose Lounge which has been redecorated for the occasion to give it a Parisian feel! After that will then continue its travel around the world to get Sofitel’s guests to discover a little bit of the Parisian style and art-de-vivre over the last few decades.
Have a nice day!
