Since the 27th of September, Sofitel Saint James in London is hosting a photo exhibition, La Parisienne by Sofitel, along with different experiences for their guests such as personal styling sessions, exclusive cocktails and menus etc. I had already mentioned this to you in my post about Willa Gebbie who was commissioned to create some illustrations for a style guide written by the British blogger Ella Catliff especially for this event.

Ai Wei Wei at the Royal Academy of Arts

As mentioned to you in a previous post, I have been to London Royal Academy of Arts a few weeks ago to see Ai Wei Wei exhibition. Apart from hearing he had taken part in the design of Beijing Olympic stadium, the Bird’s Nest, I really got to discover his work when I arrived in London at the end of 2010, where he was exhibiting the Sunflower Seeds installation at the Tate Modern. The Parov Stelar Band

As I am travelling across Canada at the moment, I have prepared for you a little musical interlude 🙂 Last year, when looking for music inspiration for our wedding, a friend recommended me Parov Stelar. Antigone at the Barbican

Last weekend, I went to see Antigone by Sophokles at the Barbican in a direction by Ivo van Hove. The later is directing as well “A View From The Bridge” which is currently a great success in London and will be broadcasted in cinemas by National Theatre Live (more info here). But let’s come back to Antigone 🙂 One of my reasons to go to see this play was that the frenchie Juliette Binoche is staring as the main actress. Continue Reading

Electra at the Old Vic

Last weekend, I went to see Electra at the Old Vic, directed by Ian Rickson, with Kristin Scott Thomas as the leading actress. The performance of the cast really recreated a heavy and tense atmosphere in the tradition of greek tragedies in this version of the Sophocles play adapted by Frank McGuinness!  Continue Reading
